Degenerative Disc Disease

Degenerative disc disease is one of the major causes of low back and neck pain. In simple words, a Spinal disc problemproblem is associated with the common symptoms of neck or back pain due to the wearing down of the spinal disc. In a few cases, a degeneration disc disease induces weakness, numbness, throbbing pain in legs and arms. Typically, a degeneration disc disease involves low-level pain and in some cases severe pain. Degenerative disc disease that is painful is prevalent in the neck (cervical spine) and the lower back (lumbar spine). The aforementioned regions in the spine are highly mobile and are susceptible to severe stress, and disc degeneration.

There are two major causes of the pain due to disc degeneration

  • Inflammation
  • Micro-motion instability
